BP Uses Tax Concessions to Fatten Bottom Line in Alaska Exit
When do we say as Alaskans: enough is enough?
JUNEAU – Today Senator Hollis French (D-Anchorage) commented on the sale of assets on Alaska’s North Slope by British Petroleum.
“BP was one of the prime advocates for the Oil Wealth Giveaway. They testified on numerous occasions before the legislature promoting exciting new development opportunities because of the Giveaway. Today, they cashed out in Alaska, proving once again that oil taxes do not dictate the operations of global energy producers,” said Senator French.
“BP got their ‘fair share’ today, but with the Governor’s Giveaway, Alaska faces billion dollar deficits,” stated Senator French.
