Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Yesterday, a group of my colleagues and I introduced an alternative to the Governor’s oil tax bill. We do not support giving billions of dollars in tax breaks without increased production. The bill we introduced, Senate Bill 50, is designed to encourage new production in new fields and areas, develop heavy oil, and incentivize construction of new production facilities to get more oil in the pipeline and more jobs for Alaskans. The primary goal of our bill is to stimulate more production without “giving away the farm” and going off a fiscal cliff.

Senator Wielechowski discusses his approach to oil tax reform: No reduction without increased production.

Presentation this Saturday:
Debunking Myths About Oil Taxes

Please join me on February 16th, 11am – 1pm at Begich Middle School (7440 Creekside Center Drive) to learn more about the Governor’s oil tax proposal, our alternative and the effects oil taxes has on the Alaskan economy.

I have spent the past six years listening to industry professionals, international experts and various state regulatory agencies. This presentation has been developed to help Alaskans form their own opinions based on the facts.

The presentation is open to the public. Bring your friends and neighbors!
