JBER Troop Cuts on Hold
Great news for JBER! Last week, the US Army announced that plans to cut 2,600 troops from the 4-25 Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) on Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson have been officially put on hold. I attended many meetings and flew back from Juneau several times to testify about my concerns with this proposed cut.
With continued nuclear provocation from North Korea and aggression from Russia, Alaska’s strategic location is simply too important for our nation’s defense. I’m glad the Army has recognized this.
